[Accepted][Closed]A Drunken Brawl

Quake was wide open after his heavy strike, and took the straight, well... straight to the face.


22 HP - 2 DAM = 20 HP


Hobbling backward, he brought his forearm up to his face to wipe away some blood dripping down. It was a solid hit. Though it hurt, he'd be fine. Quake spit off to the side- a mixture of saliva, blood, and some dirt that had collected in his mouth.

He continued antagonizing the Ragonar, "Now that was a little weak. I'll have another! Something stronger this time."

Quake was still losing a considerable amount of blood from his sword wound, and one way or another he wanted to end this soon. Whether it meant taking a beating, enraging the merc into creating an opening... or even fighting dirty.

He put his hand up to his chest, as if to inspect the gash. In a sudden motion, he flicked his arm and wrist forward in an attempt to blind Zeik momentarily with some blood in the eyes. The desert warrior charged forward, aiming a heavy shoulder tackle to throw his opponent off his feet.

As his arms started getting heavy, Zeik understood he was getting really damaged. 'Gotta end this soon'. he thought to himself. He stood his ground, waiting for Quake's retaliation.

Suddenly, the desert bandit threw blood right into the merc's eyes. Zeik grimaced in pain, but was used to this tactic from his time in the mercs. He lowered his center of gravity and crossed his forearms, fortifying his block.

WHAM!

Quake slammed into Zeik with considerable force. Most of the damage was blocked, but not all of it.

With Quake so close, Zeik knew he had to turn it into a straight brawling match. In a single motion, he uncrossed his arms and went to grab Quake's head, aiming a knee straight for his face...!

Once again Quake's all-out behavior left him wide open. He felt the pressure of the Ragonar's large hands around his head, gritted his teeth, and then POW! A knee straight to the face!


20 HP - 2 D = 18 HP


He staggered backward once more, but managed to keep himself on his feet. He kept himself propped up with his arms on his knees, starting to pant heavily. After two sizeable excursions of energy and two straight clocks to the face, he need a breather.

My face must be a mess right now, he thought. Though he was in the middle of the fight, he wondered what would happen if he went into the bar and gave that lovely Half-Elf barmaid his prized smile now. Not so charming when it's bloody and crooked.

He kept his eye on the Ragonar, taking the time to rest, however short it may be before he made his next move.

The large Ragonar felt a chill run up his spine, through his neck and right into his head. The blood lust started to kick in. His decision making started to slur and he let instincts take over.

Zeik rushed forward, hopped up into the air and with his full weight, brought a superman punch down right into Quake...!

Strike! Attemping 2 DAM...

Quake brought his arms up above him to block the strike. Though he took no damage, he was getting tired now and he could not take the full weight of the Ragonar behind the punch. His knees buckled and finally gave, causing him to fall backward.

Block!

He would've hit the ground again, were it not for the crowd closing in around them. He had gone for enough back that he fell back into them, and felt them push him back toward Zeik.

The unexpected push made him stumble forward toward the merc, and he used the momentum to improvise an awkward strike to Zeik's side.

Zeik's instincts were in full gear now. He didn't block the attack, oh no. With a half swing, he swatted Quake's attack away.

Deflected!


Not wanting to let up, Zeik stepped in and let loose a huge right hook aimed right for Quake's jaw...!

Oh no, not this time! he thought to himself.

Quake was tired of taking hits to the head or face- there was no way he was going to let this one make contact. He dropped low to the ground, ducking under the blow...

Dodge!

...in the same motion, he stretched his leg out and brought it around in a foot sweep toward Zeik's leg which Quake had previously wounded.

Strike! Attempting 2 DAM...

The large merc read the motion, but barely. In the same motion, he jumped and dodged the leg sweep. He had jumped forward, aiming to attack Quake in the same motion. He turned his body and brought his elbow down, right on the crouched Desert warrior...!

Dodge!


Strike! Attempting 2 DAM...

The hunter saw the incoming elbow and quickly reacted. He didn't have the time to move away, and he couldn't block as he'd just end up face down in the ground. He stretched out his palms while bringing himself back up to a standing postion, grabbing Zeik's upper arm and guiding him off to the side.

Deflect!

Quake took a step back and them made a forward leap into the air, using the momentum to launch a dropkick into the merc's torso.

Zeik knew he couldn't take the hit of another attack like that. He had to do something drastic, so he pumped all his power into his legs and used reckless leap, but this time to dodge the attack. With a stumble, he landed a few feet from Quake. The movement was too drastic and taxed his body, so he couldn't retaliate. Instead, he took up a defensive stance.

Missing his target completely, Quake landed on his ass with a THUD!

He picked himself back up, brushing the dirt off his pants. Panting more heavily, the desert warrior knew he didn't have it in him for another attack like that.

Quake put up his fists and stared down at Zeik- they were back to square one in a neutral position.

"It's not that I don't find this absolutely thrilling, but how long do we expect to keep this up?" he questioned.

"This really did escalate quickly. By now you've sobered and should have realized you fell over all by your own big self. If you wanna go until someone's down for the count, be my guest- just know I'd rather just go back to the bar for another drink... FATE knows I could use it right now."

He kept his arms up and his senses alert.

"What? And miss out on such a good fight? Nah, think I'll pass." Zeik said. He was damaged, fatigued, bleeding, and nearly passing out, but was still enjoying himself. In one motion, he stepped forward with a good gap closer and aimed a right straight right for Quake's face, however, at the last second he hesitated and opened up his forearm into a straight line. His right straight was a fake feint that turned into a clothesline...!

Strike! Attempting 2 DAM...

"Have it your way!"

Quake was caught off guard and took the clothesline.

16HP - 2D = 14 HP

He fell to the ground and tumbled backward, stopping himself in a crouching position. From this position he charged toward the Ragonar, launching a right hook to his abdomen. He intentionally whiffed the blow and in the same motion spun around with a backhand strike from his left.

The ragonar was caught off guard and took the backhand to the face. He gritted his teeth and groaned in anger. While Quake was still spinning, he tried to make the most of it. He clasped his hands together and brought them down for a huge overhead strike..!

In a bad position, Quake took the heavy blow from above, and he was launched face-first into the ground below.

14 HP - 2 D = 12 HP

He pushed himself up out of the dirt and spit out some blood. Quake scrambled through the towering Ragonar's legs. From behind Zeik, he launched his leg back and upward toward the merc's backside.

The strike hit Zeik right in the upper back, causing him to get pushed forward. He was able to catch his balance before running into the now very large crowd. He turned and charge again, not relenting this fight.

With a quick stop, he thrust his foot forward, aiming for Quake's gut...!

Quake used his forearm to swat Zeik's leg aside...

... and aimed a quick strike to his inner thigh.

'Ahshitno' He thought to himself, seeing Quake going for his groin area. He quickly hopped to the side, saving his gonads. Not wanting to lose momentum, Zeik charges at Quake, aiming his shoulder at his side...!

Dodge!

Quake was knocked back, stumbling but regaining his footing.

12 - 2 = 10.

The sand man's vision began to blur, and he was growing evermore dizzy. He looked down at the wound on his chest- he'd lost a lot of blood throughout the fight. Quake shook his head quickly to alert himself.

I've only got to power through a bit more. I can feel him slowing down too.

Quake gave a final push and suddenly closed the gap between Zeik and himself. He curled in his fingertips and launched two leopard blows in rapid successions aimed between the Ragonar's ribs.

The Ragonar stood strong and took the punch right to the ribcage. He tried not showing any emotion, but his face winced in pain.

8-2= 6HP

He looked down to the desert warrior. Glancing down to his chest, he saw he was bleeding from earlier. With a sigh, he grabbed Quake's fist slowly, indicating he wasn't fighting, and took it off his chest. "It was a good fight, but I think we're done here. You're bleeding too much to continue."

"Much respect....err....Quack." He said, forgetting Quake's name.

Quake let out a sigh of relief, "Oh thank the maker..."

The crowd began too boo loudly, disappointed with the anti-climax of the fight.

The desert warrior drowned them out- he just wanted a break now. He slowly approached his coat and crossbow that he had left on the ground. He wrapped the coat tightly around his chest as a temporary aid for his wound, and picked up his weapon, using it a crutch to keep himself up.

Quake noted the misnomer , "Well... you tried,"  he chuckled, "After beating the everliving shit out of each other, I think it's only fair to share with you. My real name's Arash... But, y'know- stick with Quake. It makes me sound cooler."

With one hand resting on his crossbow, he extended the other for Zeik, "Now you're a proper warrior... As expected from a Ragonar. I'll try not to piss off another one."

"ohh.... my bad." he said, noting he spoke Quake's name wrong. "You're not half bad for a smoothskin. It's rare for a pinky to know how to fight." He said, reaching out and shaking Quake's hand.

"My full name is ZeikThenys. Call me the unbreakable!" He said, a bit boastful.

"Unbreakable's about goddamn right!" he raised his voice, "You're a tough one."

The crowd gradually began to disperse as they realized the show was coming to a close.

"Now if you'll excuse me, Zeik... I'm gonna go find some medical attention," he said, swing his crossbow over his shoulder. He turned and began walking away, but remembered something.

"Oh yeah! If you're still down for that hunt, I'll probably be back at The Lusty Beastmaiden most nights while I'm in Izlude. So you know where to find me."

"Oof, I'll definitely be there to drink ya under the table!" Zeik yelled to Quake as he walked away. He rubbed his core, 'Goddamn, it hurt.' He thought to himself. 'Maybe I should take a few days off.....
