Jelly Monster Ahoy! [PRIVATE]

Brie shook off the thoughts in her head and started to follow Chrome, trying to focus her mind on the soon to be task at hand of killing a monster.

"Where did you have in mind, Chrome?" Brie questioned, pacing herself a bit faster to catch up to her.

"There's a forest up ahead that connects with the Elven Forest. It's in human territory though, so the magic is sparse. It does however, have nice monsters that I think you would match up well against." Chrome explained while leading the way. It'd be awhile before they reached the forest, but they could have more conversation on the way. Like more explanation about fighting.

Brie continued to follow Chrome, listening intently all the way. "So Chrome, why do you feel I'll do well against them? Are they not resistant to magic?"

Brie wondered what kind of monsters would be there...large, formidable images filled her mind with fright as she followed Chrome. No Brie, they won't be like that...they'll probably be like the squishers you saw earlier--why would Chrome lead you to death? What if she is though, she said herself she fought before--maybe she could handle the beasts after it kills me...I'll have to stay on guard... Brie stopped thinking and focused on following Chrome more closely, while trying to watch her surroundings.

"I do just fine against them, and I'm all magic. I can't say they're not magic resistant though. It'll be okay though, I'll intercept the fight if need be. This is just a training exercise anyway." Chrome looked over to Brie and smiled. She wasn't aware of Brie's thinking of betrayal, mainly because Chrome never thought that way. If someone betrayed her, it would always shock her.

Brie smiled back to Chrome, happy to know if things did go awry she was there to help, but Brie was overwhelming with confidence, eager to fight and prove herself in front of someone who had battle experience already and her face showed that confidence. Brie felt like a furnace was burning inside her, but she withheld that fire, saving it for the enemies.

"Thanks, Chrome! I'm going to make sure you don't need to intercept, though." Brie was far beyond determined now, it was like she was a completely different person, unafraid, ready for action.

"Sounds like a plan. It'll be a challenge, since it's your first time. But you'll get the hang of it." Chrome stated, seeing something in the distance. "We're pretty close."

In the distance, trees started becoming more frequent, nothing like a forest would have, but it was more than what the grasslands back there had.

Brie wasn't sure what Chrime had seen but she noticed that Chrime had seen something. She continued walking beside Chrome. "Just a little further then huh? Just promise me you won't help unless I'm going to die--or you're attacked yourself. I have to see how I fair by myself."

Brie could feel her blood flowing quicker, her Qi was burning up inside her, and her senses were heightened, she could hear every beat of her heart. She took a deep breath of the forest air and remained focused, not letting her adrenaline cause her act recklessly.

"Yea, I'll let you have your challenge. It's what I intended." Chrome replied. There was motion among the lining of the trees. "Here's what I was looking for. Good luck." Chrome backed off from Brie to give her breathing room. From this point, she was going to sit down and watch, mostly making sure nothing goes wrong, like monster intrusions.

The motion, if seen, could be seen as nothing more than a five-foot tree. It had stopped moving soon after starting.

Suprise!

A root sprung up from the ground beneath Brie's feet, aiming to uppercut her away from its host. This monster was a hider, due to its level one nature.

Root Uppercut: 2 DAM

Brie nodded at Chrome and looked around trying to see what had moved. She assumed it was something in the trees and was too distracted with looking for a creature that she didn't see the root. It curved around her leg and shot straight up to her chin, causing her to trip back a few steps.

"Ah-ha I see now..." Brie rubbed the spot the root had struck, "now to watch it retract.." Brie remained calm despite the sudden joy she felt as well as the adrenaline she could feel start to surge throughout her body. She was exhilarated, but calm. She watched as the root retracted and took her guess at which tree is belonged to. Her hand lit up in a burst of flames, No Brie--save it, identify the enemy and THEN strike.

The flames quickly faded into the air, and Brie reached down, grabbing a small rock, and tossed it at the tree she had assumed the root belonged to.

"Ha!" She shouted as she launched the rock at a tree.

The rock bounced off the bark of the tree, flying off into the air and rolling around the ground before stopping some distance away. There wasn't any motion, but from underneath Brie another root shot up, enough in front of her to see.

But, it was a decoy shot, as the real attack was coming out of the ground behind her, a more powerful impacting root from underground.

Feint Root Surprise: 3 DAM

Brie jumped to the right after seeing the first root, however the second root still made contact on her left leg, causing her to trip. They're coming from EVERYWHERE, she thought. maybe if I....yes that's it

Brie got up to her feet and ran further to the right, then leapt into the air and pulled herself up onto a branch of a tree. She climbed up on more branch to get a better vantage of the area, she was about six feet high. Her plan was to wait and watch where the roots come from, and then Attack the enemy.
