[Private] An Unlikely Companionship!

"Oh, thank you." She didn't really know what to say to the passive aggressive behaviour, but it'd get her books put up faster. Chrome put away her stack, which wasn't far from where Locke was putting away the rest. It wasn't much on her end so she turned to see Locke break off his arm, followed by the shattering glass sound. It hurt her eyes quite a bit, but she was more shocked by the arm.

"What happened to you arm?" was all she could manage to ask.

"Oh, this? It's my spatial power," Locke answered, the left hand giving a thumbs up in retort, "Hang on, lemme fix this."

Locke placed the two glowing ends where his left arm came apart carefully together and in a flash of light the arm was whole again, as if it had never came apart at all. He then stroked his chin, trying to find the right way to explain it.

"Perhaps a broader example as to what my power does would be if I were to use something that you wouldn't expect to have that kind of effect. Chrome, wouldn't you by any chance have the ability to use wind magic? If so, can you create an orb of wind in your hands for me, constantly swirling in place?"

Locke had put his arm back on as if it never had happened. She took note of the ability as she has seen it. Perhaps this knowledge would come in hand later on. She had never seen spatial powers before. It was quite interesting.

She nodded to Locke's question, "Yea I can do it." She put her hands, one above the other, and started swirling the wind in between her palms, keeping it in constant rotation as he had asked. "Like this?"

"All right, good. Now, no matter what I do or how you react, you must keep your concentration on the orb strong. I'm going to do it again, this time on your orb."

With his two hands, he grabbed the orb and broke the top half of it off as if it were a piece of clay. A similar effect of glowing and crystallization occurred on the two halves of the orbs. With a grin, he crushed the top half of the orb in his hands as if it were paper. When he held his hands out in a cup, there were numerous shards of glass in his hands, each empowered with blue light and the power of wind.

"My spatial ability allows me to temporally distort and disassemble anything that I touch by shattering it like glass. Its power works on anything, from people to magic to solid objects. When you noticed how I used it on my arm, I still had full control and function of my arm despite that it was detached from my body. My power is relatively absolute, but do to this I can only use its power very few times. This power CANNOT kill under any circumstances- that is also absolute. However, like all broken things they can be fixed. They just take a bit of time...watch..."

Locke then poured the shards of glass into the bottom half of the wind orb as a light shone in Chrome's hands. When the light dissipated, the ball of wind was whole again in her hands. Locke approached the table and put his gloves back on.

"And that's how my Shatter power works."

Chrome was amazed by the show. She had never seen something so special, and that's with all her magical travels. "Oh wow! That's amazing! How did you learn that?" She followed the boy, wanting to learn more about the powers. She was always interested in learning.

"It's not like most magic where you can just open a book and find what you're looking for. And I just can't teach it to you either. It just is with me - I was BORN with this power. Spatial magic runs deep in my family, in all shapes and sizes - we just have a natural affinity towards it, even though its only one thing. My father can control gravity, my younger brother can create anything he can think of out of thin air, my mother can create an invisible sphere around her where inside she is God and my grandfather has the ability to manipulate luck."

Locke gave a sigh and sat down, "My power alone was how I was able to survive this last year by myself during my journey."

She was somewhat disappointed by the news of her never learning it herself, but perhaps once day she would find a way. First, her agenda was for the basics. Though she felt this way, her cheer never left her face as she listened to Locke's family history. "That's quite the interesting powers running in your family. Manipulating luck though, might be the most intriguing." Chrome thought on the sound of it for a moment.

"If it weren't for my powers, I wouldn't be here either, at least not the route I took."

"I guess that makes us kindred spirits, then, eh?" Locke laughed as he patted Chrome's shoulder, "But yeah, the world is filled with all sorts of powers, all sorts of guys like me in all shapes and sizes. There's a path to everything, even to my powers. You just gotta have the fortune and the diligence to find it."

Chrome thought on what Locke had said. His words rung in her mind, bringing up her adventures to Isera. "You're right. I feel like going on an adventure now. There's so much to be seen out there. I can always come back here." She was all giddy for an adventure now. She was hoping to learn more from monsters, like possibly a new element to control.

"An adventure doesn't sound like a bad idea. I could always learn so much more from the world than what I got now," Locke mused, feeling very confident in himself and in his powers, "So do you plan on going alone or do you intend on gathering a posse?"

"I wouldn't mind anybody tagging along. I'll just leave this here...for when Leo returns." Chrome scribbled a note together with some loose paper and a pen she had on her. It was very limited information, but enough for Leo to find them if needed.

Chrome then headed to the front of the library, aiming to leave Isera for now. "You tagging along Locke?"

"Absolutely," Locke answered with a smile, "lead the way, Ms. Chrome."

As Locke moved past the frozen Leo to Chrome as they stood before the front of the library, he felt a feeling of ambition flow through him. His Versetto blood craved adventure and glory, power and hope. As he finally reached the door, he realized that he is actually leaving here with the girl, a beautiful one at that, and it wasn't even his intention! To the preteen Locke, Leo was the one who was tending to Chrome, but when it was all said and done, Locke of all lads was the one walking out with her. The blush returned strong on Locke's face as a smile crept on his face, music booming in his head

♪ Ohhh ohhhhhhhhh it's Mr. Steal-Yo-Girl ♫ Locke sang in his head as the two left the library onto their adventures.
