The beastman hissed as he tried to block the attack with his tail. Some of the projectiles still hit, however.

The lizard hissed and in the process, opened it's mouth and shot a thick line of acid right toward him...!

The Lizardman bit the bait.
With his eyes half open, Leo noticed the thick acid making it's way towards him. He had to act fast. He rolled to the side, effectivley dodging the acid, but once again, only by a little. The ground next to him started to bubble.

Hoping to catch the Beastman offgaurd, Leo whipped his arm quickly, sending the remaing projectile rocketing towards the face of the Lizardman. However, right before it's impact, Leo made a fist with his hands, breaking the rock projectile in to three rock fragments, two aimed for the Beastman's eyes ..!

The beastman was able to recover and see the rock user's whole display. He saw the projectiles coming toward him, but they were faster than he though. Still, he was able to weave past a few of them.

The lizard man hissed and sprung forward toward leo. He knew to finish it, he had to do something new. Once he got into range, he spun around, aiming his tail at Leo's legs. It was a feint. At the last second, he drew his tail in close, speeding up his twisting motion. His mouth was open a bit and acid shot forth toward leo as the lizard spun.

Before the acid hit Leo, he threw one more rock projectile at the Lizardman.

However, the final acid blow was a bit too much and Leo FAINTED.

The lizard man was so caught up in his own victory that he failed to see the earth user's last ability. The earth projectile struck him right between the eyes, killing him instantly. His lifeless corpse fell where he stood and his blood soaked the grass around him. His corpse could possibly have attracted other monsters near by...

In another part of F.A.T.E., a user got a message. Your friend has fainted! Displaying a picture of the fallen Leo. The messaged was sent to a certain white haired, elven girl....

Chrome appeared on site, taking in what she could see before rushing in. She had called for back-up herself, a man she had met before Leo. He was an experienced Hunter and a wise call-in. She located Leo's body from the forest top, concealing her movements to any monsters around her with her wind-boosted jumps. The power of the wind sh maintained covered up her traces, even redirecting monsters' senses. Out here, there was only survival.

Quake approached from the opposite side, slowly creeping through the brush. He had covered himself in a thick coating of dirt to mask his scent and make him more difficult to spot. The sun was beginning to set, and his yellow eyes glistened in the darkness- they could easily be mistaken for those of a beast.

He took in the surroundings.

Thick woodlands. Two bodies in the clearing. Signs of a struggle. One of them's gotta be Chrome's buddy.

Quake continued his scan of the area, his gaze eventually wandering upward into the treetops. He spotted familiar colors behind the thick of the leaves. They were both on site now and ready to go. He moved in closer to the clearing, watching his footing to make the least possible noise. At the edge where the thick brush ended, Quake pressed his palms quickly to the dirt, covering the area in a sudden cloud of dust. That was the sign to move in.

He pulled his scarf up over his nose and mouth and rushed into the clearing.

Chrome waited for Quake's signal, the dust cloud. She quickly dove into the mass of dirt, covering her face with slight wind pushes. It was just enough to clear dirt from her eyes, but not enough to alter the giant dust cloud.

She landed next to Leo's body and picked him up, checking for signs of life. He was still there, just in rough shape. She wasn't sure why he went in alone on this, especially since they had just met.

Quake stopped immediately at the reptilian beastman, looking it over.

Dead. Rock shard in the skull. Nasty piece of work, this one.

He glanced at Chrome, who had just picked up the other body and whispered, "I'm guessing that's him. Still kicking?"

"Yea, let's book it out of here before it gets more nasty than that." Chrome was referring to the lizardman's dead body which was sure to bring in more monsters. Chrome followed Quake out of the dust cloud, leaning on his ability to feel the Earth for an danger in the dust cloud.

Quake moved slowly, leading Chrome back toward the bush. He kept a steady focus on the earth in the immediate area. He still wasn't quite as skilled in his earth magic as he'd like, so he couldn't feel out too far.

Suddenly he felt a shift, as something entered his range. It was close. He turned around violently, swinging his crossbow over and aiming it directly in front of him in one clean motion. Quake kept his finger on the trigger, trying to spot and movement within the dust cloud. He motioned for Chrome to get behind him.

All of a sudden, two giant rocky-ape like creatures appeared. They were around 5'8" hunched over, but a full 7 foot if they stood up straight. They had no eyes and small ears, with huge mouths and noses. Their forearms, knees, feet and head were all made of rock.

Chrome got behind Quake, but she activated her wind technique to guide a breeze of the fresh scent of lizard blood to their noses. She whispered to Quake, "Don't pull the trigger just yet." With an unconscious body, now wasn't a good time to get caught fighting. This was a rescue mission.

Quake whispered back at Chrome, "Right. They haven't spotted us. Keep moving." While keeping his crossbow up and aimed, he continued stepping back slowly. Chrome was right, this wasn't a hunt- their primary objective was to get her friend to safety.

The smaller of the two rockapes moved forward first, heading straight toward the corpse. As soon as it got there, it began feasting. It tore flesh from the lizardman's corpse like it was cotton candy. Red and yellow cotton candy with a nice reddish ooze squeezing here and there.

The second and larger ape was a bit more cautious. It approached very slowly and sniffed the surrounding area. It caught a scent next to the dead lizardman and tried to follow it. It slowly started approaching Quake and Chrome based off of Leo's scent.

Leo began to twitch in Chrome's arms, twitching slightly. Just a few minutes ago he was fighting off a Lizardman and now he's in the arms of an Elf-woman. He shifted his head slightly and saw another figure .. A friend of the Elven woman, maybe?

It didn't matter.

He suspected that they were evacuating him from the area. He tapped Chrome's arm softly as not surprise her.

The situation was getting sticky. With Leo waking up, Chrome had to whisper to him to stay silent. She used her wind gusts to disconnect Leo's scent from his body, hopefully getting the rockape away. She backed up slowly, trying to get out of the area as carefully as possible.

This wasn't looking good. The monster was closing in on them. The best they could hope for was that it hadn't yet pinpointed Leo's location and Chrome's diversion would be enough to get the monster off their backs.

Just in case, Quake reached into his pocket, pulling out a handful of large stones. He molded them into sharpened caltrops, dropping them in patches along the way as they backed off.

The larger Rock-Ape continued to follow the scent... but suddenly stopped. It sniffed the air, but it couldn't get the scent it had just moments ago. It was just about to turn, but it heard a ruffling in the bushes. It's head snapped directly at Quake and it started howling while beating it's chest. The smaller one peaked up from it's meal; head and mouth covered in blood and started howling as well. It ripped off a chunk off the tail of the lizard creature and hurled it at the bushes where they were.

Leo's looked at Chrome and then at Quake, then back at Chrome. Pretty sure the duo heard the same noise he did, he removed himself from Chrome's arms and landed on the ground. He still felt like he was out of it a little bit, but still had enough energy to keep going. He turned around to Chrome and Quake with a look of seriousness on his face.

"I think we should get out of here..."

Chrome nodded to Quake. She was going to pull out the back-up plan. She ran around the clearing edge, making noises in the bushes to catch the attention of the monsters. She would jump with the wind boost to the top of the tree, hiding in the branches. It was a risky move, but with the monsters focused on the area.

Quake nodded in response. He kept his aim up in the direction of the monsters, ready to fire in case things went awry.

"Keep moving," he whispered to Leo. Though he had regained consciousness, he wasn't really in any shape to put up a fight against two more monsters. Quake motioned for Leo to keep backing up quietly. Before continuing to move away from the area, Quake threw a heavy stone far in the opposite direction of Chrome to further confuse the monsters.

The smaller of the rockapes immediately jumped to follow chrome. The larger of the two, however, wasn't convinced. Rockapes were generally intelligent creatures, the smaller was just young.

Rockape I, the larger one, kept his eyes on the original location of the scent and noise. All of a sudden, he charged forward to Quake and Leo, but suddenly shifted when he heard another noise in the bushes. While still not convinced, it seems his attention wasn't entirely on Quake and Leo anymore.

OOC: It's been awhile since Leo's posted. It's fine to continue on without him. He can join back whenever he returns.

Chrome fired off a fireblast attack, aimed at the tree where she, quake and leo, and the big stoneape weren't. The fourth wall. At that point, she turned tail and ran into the forest, jumping tree from tree with her wind powers. She went in an inward direction angled slightly at quake and leo's angle, as to catch up with them later. Even if the little stoneape gave chase, she only tried to distract the bigger one, at least for now.
